Our Bideford Hair & Beauty Salon is Open Again!

We’re back! It feels so good to finally be able to get back into the salon and back to what we do best! We’ve not been hibernating over lockdown though, we’ve been using the time to get hard at work on looking at what new treatments we can train and qualify in to keep expanding our range of services and offer everything our clients need. We’ve got some exciting new announcements and pretty much every area of the salon is expanding - hair, beauty and the non-surgical treatments/aesthetics. So let’s start filling you in on what’s been going on here and what you’ve got to look forward to now we’re back.

First things first, in case you’ve missed the announcements on social media, we’re saying goodbye to the piercing studio. As many of you might know, the piercing studio/Locked Up was originally owned by Mel who rented the space and was self-employed. However, before returning from Lockdown 1 she had approached us and asked if we would like to buy the business and employ her to help her own situation which we agreed to. Shortly after we finalised the agreement she decided to leave and then shortly after that, Meg, who had earlier in the year joined Mel to offer longer hours in the studio also decided to leave, meaning we had little choice but to look at what else we could use in that space which suits the skillsets we have now, which brings us onto some exciting news, we’re going to turn the former piercing studio into a private hair salon where we will be offering our new hair loss solutions service - more to come on this later. We will miss the piercing studio and being able to offer this, BUT, it’s onwards and upwards to better things for something we’re much more passionate about. We will still be offering gun ear piercings for those aged 13 years and below though, as we still have the equipment, insurance and qualifications/training to offer this.

Now onto the really exciting news! The new treatments we’re now going to be offering.

These are services which loads of our clients have requested as we’ve expanded our non-surgical treatment offering, having added Lipo Cavitation to our list of services earlier this year which complimented the CACI maintenance treatments we already offered.

Let’s start with non-surgical treatments in The BB Clinic. Lisa has recently become our head clinician and before this most recent lockdown was seeing some amazing amazing results with Lipo Cavitation. Over this most recent lockdown she’s identified some new services she thinks would be perfect for our clients and has been busy training ready to offer them. The new services which we will start to offer now we’ve reopened will include The Cold Hammer (used for shrinking pores), Skin scrubber (which helps clean skin), Dermaplaning (which removes dead skin/hairs), Hydrodermabrasion (treats dull, tired skin), Hydrafacial (medical grade hydrodermabrasion), Radio frequency face lifting (non-surgical skin rejuvenation), Chemical skin peel (improve and smooth the texture of the skin), Electrolysis (removing individual hairs), Hydra dermabrasion deep clean skin (effective treatment for tired and drained skin). AND on top of all this, don’t forget we’ve recently joined forces with Flawless Fillers Aesthetics who will be coming into the salon 1 day a month offering anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers, so some really exciting aesthetic treatments are now available too! Next up, we’ve got some new beauty treatments which we can't wait to start offering! Our amazing beauty therapist Jayne has also been busy during lockdown, finding and training in new treatments our clients will love. On reopening, you’ll be able to book and enjoy a selection of body wrap treatments. These include The Shea butter body wrap - Shea butter is rich in fatty acids so deeply nourishes and moisturises the skin and helps with anti aging. This treatment includes full body brush, exfoliant and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage using warm, 100% pure shea butter. The Detox Body Wrap - this treatment includes a full body brush and exfoliant. Using enzymatic dead sea mud, this will help you detoxify your skin by drawing out impurities as well as nourishing your skin and relaxing your muscles. And finally, The Slim Wrap - the slim wrap treatment sees the application of slimming gel and bandages on your desired areas (tummy, upper arms, thighs etc.) along with a body brush. This treatment will help with inch loss, toning and improving appearance of cellulite lasting around a week. Speaking from experience, these treatments are incredible and you’ll walk away feeling brand new.

Are now finally, hair loss solutions! This is actually something Michaela qualified for before the first lockdown, but when lockdown came it put the brakes on things. Then given how busy the salon was on reopening from lockdown we didn’t have a chance to really get into it. She took another upskilling course in the most recent lockdown and we’re now ready to finally start offering this life changing service. Our hair loss solution works using a mesh integration system which works as a permanent wig sewn into your current hair. It’s perfect for any ladies who have finer or thinner hair which you find hard to style or even for anyone who has had issues with hair loss such as alopecia, chemotherapy or trichotillomania. We even now have a private room to carry out these appointments and consultations which is something we feel is paramount to this kind of service. We need to get some model appointments done before we can start offering it as a full service and add it to the website, but if you’d like a confidential consultation to discuss what it could do for you please get in touch with us.

We’ve also been running an out of hours diary for those who haven’t been able to get an appointment or if you just want to bring yours forward! The out of hours diary is running from 6.30am - 9.30am Monday - Saturday and 6.30pm - midnight Monday - Saturday (except Thursday as the salon is open until late anyway). There is a small overtime charge for the hours which is an extra £15 on a cut and an extra £40 on colour.
